Media outlets close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that multiple explosions were heard on the evening of May 25 in Bandar Abbas and several areas in the eastern part of Hormozgan Province. However, official authorities have not yet provided any explanation regarding the cause of these sounds.
Fars News Agency reported: “Minutes ago, residents in Bandar Abbas heard several explosions.” The news agency added that the exact location and origin of these sounds have not yet been determined. Fars also noted that concurrent reports had been received of similar sounds being heard in the areas of Sirik and Jask.
Meanwhile, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, citing local sources, reported that at least three explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas. At the same time, several users and followers of the Vahid Online Telegram channel also reported hearing these explosions, corroborating the accounts published by domestic media.
Up to the time of publication, no military or security institution had commented on the cause of the explosions, their precise location, or any potential damage, and further details remained unavailable.
