A civic accountability organisation, Tracka, has raised concerns over an alleged discrepancy in the implementation of the 2024 budget for the renovation of Confluence Stadium in Kogi State, revealing that despite an allocation of N120 million and a reported disbursement of N61.4 million, no renovation work has commenced at the facility.

The civic accountability organisation disclosed this after conducting a physical inspection of the stadium and subsequently obtaining an official response from the Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

SaharaReporters independently confirmed the amount said to have been paid through a review of the Kogi State fourth quarter 2024, budget performance document.

According to Tracka, the 2024 budget made provision for the renovation of Confluence Stadium to FIFA standards.

However, its findings showed that the facility remains in a state of disrepair, with no evidence that the planned renovation project has begun despite the reported release of funds.
