During a visit to the school, Tracka observed that the classroom blocks remain in a state of disrepair, with no evidence of renovation or construction work on the premises.

Questions have emerged over the utilisation of public funds after civic accountability organisation Tracka revealed that despite the payment of ₦16.4 million for the renovation of a primary school in Abia State, no construction work has been carried out at the site.

SaharaReporters verified the payment through the public expenditure tracking portal, Govspend.

According to findings from a project monitoring exercise, ₦16.4 million was paid to Sunray Energy Limited in August 2025 as the final tranche for the “Upgrade of 2 Blocks of 3 Classrooms at OverRail Primary School, Uzuakoli LGA, Abia State.”

However, Tracka reported that the project remains unexecuted months after the payment was made.
