A 23-year-old South African woman has been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport after police allegedly found suspected drug-filled capsules concealed inside her body while she was preparing to board a flight to Tokyo.
SAPS says the suspect was intercepted by Border Police after officers received operational information.
Police say X-rays confirmed the presence of suspected drug-filled capsules inside her body following a medical examination.
According to preliminary investigations, the woman had travelled on a domestic route before returning to OR Tambo, where she was stopped before boarding an international flight to Tokyo.
