Lithuania has broken its June temperature record after the mercury hit 36.3C in Druskininkai on Sunday, the national weather service said.
“We now have a new overall record for the highest temperature ever recorded in the month of June,” forecaster Paulius Starkus told LRT RADIO on Sunday.The previous June record was set in 2019 at the Kaišiadorys station, where temperatures reached 35.7C.Meteo LT reported that this is the eighth daily temperature record broken this year. In 2025, there were 23 such records in total, 18 in 2024, 16 in 2023, 13 in 2022 and 6 in 2021.Between 2021 and 2026, heat records in Lithuania have been recorded approximately eight times more frequently than cold records.
