Lynn’s Supermarket and Bakery is urging affected customers and businesses to immediately contact their banks and stop payment on cheques stolen during a robbery at Le Lama Gas Station on Saturday evening.
In a Facebook post, the company listed multiple stolen cheques issued by customers and businesses, asking cheque holders to act urgently and also contact Lynn’s Supermarket or Le Lama Gas Station for verification.
The stolen cheques include payments from NBS, BSP, ANZ, and SCB, with values ranging from $50 to $2,000.
The notice follows a robbery in which an ex-worker allegedly stole the day’s takings while the gas station manager was closing up for the evening at approximately 7:18 p.m. on Saturday.
Security footage released by the company allegedly shows the suspect waiting near the front of the supermarket before the manager approached from the gas station area carrying a cash bag. The video appears to show the suspect timing his movements before snatching the bag and fleeing on foot, while two staff members gave chase.
