A shocking robbery case has surfaced in Kamloops, south-central British Columbia, where one man has been arrested while police continue searching for another after the two allegedly stole and emptied an ATM from a pub. The incident came to light after police were called to a pub on Westsyde Road just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday (June 26, 2026) after hearing that two men came into the pub and stole an ATM before driving off in an allegedly stolen truck, CTV News reported citing authorities.Police claimed that the truck and ATM were eventually recovered but the money inside had already been taken. “Two males matching the suspects” were found with the help of a police dog, Mounties in Kamloops, B.C said. They were followed until both “entered” the Thompson River, according to CTV News. Police stated that one of them was traken into ciustoy shortly after they got in the river, but the other swam across and “remains outstanding.”“Police officers flooded the ground and the river, with assistance Kamloops Fire and Rescue, however the suspect was not located, despite significant searching,” reads a release from the Kamloops RCMP.Officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police say the suspect is believed to be a balding white man with a beard and distinctive sleeve tattoos covering his right arm and shoulder.
