Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated sharply on Sunday after President Donald Trump warned that Washington could go further militarily if Tehran continues to defy the ceasefire, while Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had launched missile and drone strikes on U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.

The latest flare-up followed a U.S. strike on Iranian missile and drone storage sites and coastal radar positions, which Washington said was a response to an Iranian drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a social media post on Truth Social, Trump said U.S. aircraft had struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites over what he described as Iran’s violation of the ceasefire.

He added that it was possible Iran “will never learn” and warned that the United States might be forced to “militarily complete the job” if the confrontation continues. Trump had earlier blamed Iran for violating the interim agreement after the attack on the commercial vessel.
