The city police imposed a temporary no-drone zone from Visakhapatnam Airport to Hotel Novotel from June 29 to July 1, ahead of the scheduled visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Visakhapatnam.Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi, in a release on Saturday (June 27, 2026), announced that a temporary ‘Red Zone’ has been declared from Visakhapatnam Airport to Hotel Novotel to ensure fool-proof security during the President’s visit. The restrictions will remain in force from 2 p.m. on June 29 to 2 p.m. on July 1. He stated that, as part of the security protocol, flying drones has been strictly prohibited within a two-kilometre radius of the route connecting the airport and Hotel Novotel.The CP warned that any person found operating drones or violating the prohibitory orders would face stringent legal action under the provisions of the Aircraft Act, 1934.
