Ekambaram, 8, son of late Karthi, Auto Nagar First Street, Kumbakonam, was charred to death in a fire accident on June 27.According to sources, the fire broke out on Saturday morning when Kamatchi, a daily wage labourer, was away. As the hut in which the mother and son were residing caught fire suddenly, the deceased was trapped in the fire and charred to death. His body was shifted to the Government District Headquarters Hospital, Kumbakonam, for postmortem.Agriculture Minister R.Vinoth called on the bereaved family and assured that compensation and other assistances would be provided to the affected family soon, according to an official release.
