At just 13, Reddam House Umhlanga Grade 8 pupil Nobubelebesisa “Nobe” Zwane was selected for the South Africa U19 Women’s squad that will tour Pakistan for the team’s inaugural Youth T20 International (T20I) series. Now 14, and Nobe was named in the South African U19 Women’s Cricket Training Camp at the Cricket South Africa Centre of Excellence in Pretoria, where players are preparing for event in 2027. She is the youngest player in the squad.

TEARS of joy streamed down Nobubelebesisa “Nobe” Zwane’s face when she received the phone call that changed her life.

It was December 2025 when, at the age of 13, she was told she had made it into the South Africa Under-19 cricket team.

“I was so happy about the news… it was just a very big thing for me,” she said. “I hadn’t known that I had the potential of actually going to Under-19 SA.”

Now 14, the Reddam House Umhlanga pupil and her Under-19 teammates are preparing to travel to Pakistan as part of the team’s upcoming tour in July.
