Parliament passed the $1,090,053,981, 2026/2027 national budget on Thursday just before midnight, after more than a week of debate.
The Appropriation Bill 2026/2027 was tabled by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo.
Speaking in Parliament, Mulipola said this was her fifth budget since taking up the finance portfolio. The bill passed its third reading in the House. The budget, named AIGA – Accelerating Inclusive Growth and Access, was earlier tabled in Parliament at $1.5 billion.
The passing of the Appropriation Bill gives effect to Government spending for the 2026/2027 financial year, which begins on 1 July 2026.
Of the ministry allocations listed in the Budget Address, the Ministry of Finance received the largest budget.
