Lithuania has agreed to allocate one million euros to a new programme supporting business cooperation with Ukraine, with the aim of channelling commercial activity towards the country's reconstruction and economic recovery.
The commitment was formalised at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, where Finance Minister Kristupas Vaitiekūnas signed a declaration with Ukrainian Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev.
The programme will support Lithuanian and Ukrainian companies at multiple stages of partnership development – from finding partners and assessing feasibility, to drawing up business plans, running pilot projects, training local staff and developing commercially viable investment proposals.
Priority sectors include energy resilience, cybersecurity, construction, demining, logistics, civil protection, industrial modernisation and education.
"We aim to strengthen cooperation between Lithuanian and Ukrainian companies and create the most favourable conditions for commercially viable partnerships that would contribute to Ukraine's recovery and resilience, and at the same time strengthen Lithuania's economy," Vaitiekūnas said.
