The fiancée of slain Newark resident Kraidon Monswamy has spoken publicly for the first time since the murder of her future husband and six members of his family nearly two months ago.

The 24-year-old woman, who asked not to be named, described the anguish of learning that Kraidon and his family had been killed, just days after the couple celebrated their engagement with a traditional proposal ceremony attended by both families.

She said she had been chatting to Kraidon on the evening before the murders and only became concerned the following morning when he failed to respond to her messages.

“I thought he had fallen asleep. When there was still no reply the next morning, I started to worry,” she said.
