Bishop Heber College formally inaugurated its year-long diamond jubilee celebrations on Wednesday with a series of programmes, marking 60 years of excellence in higher education in Tiruchi.The celebrations commenced with a theme-based cycle rally organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS). Around 60 student volunteers accompanied by faculty members participated in the rally, carrying messages against drug abuse and promoting healthy lifestyles and social responsibility.Rt. Rev. Dr. S. Samuel Rajadurai, bishop and chairman of Bishop Heber College and CSI Tiruchi–Thanjavur Diocese, formally inaugurated the newly established Centre of Excellence as part of the celebration.Developed in collaboration with LeSuccess, Coimbatore, the initiative marked the launch of the college’s LinkedIn Powered Campus, through which more than 13,000 students would gain access to free LinkedIn Learning licences, enabling them to acquire industry-relevant skills and enhance their employability.The occasion also saw the unveiling of the Diamond Jubilee emblem, logo, tagline and commemorative song.P. Wilson, principal and secretary of Madras Christian College, Chennai, delivered the inaugural address. G. Natarajan, IPoS, Postmaster General, Central Region, Tamil Nadu, and K. Radha Krishnan, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Tiruchi Region, and Krishna Reddy Chinta, Regional Head – South and East, LinkedIn India, were among the special invitees.In her address, principal J.
