The Silver Jubilee celebrations of Avanthi Engineering College, Makavarapalem, in Anakapalli district, were held on Wednesday.
Speaker of the AP Legislative Assembly, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the founder of Avanthi Educational Institutions, former Minister M. Srinivasa Rao. Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-GV Vizianagaram, Prof. V. V. Subba Rao, attended as the guest of honor. The chief guest along with other dignitaries inaugurated the newly constructed Silver Jubilee Block on the occasion.
AP Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu said that 25 years ago students from rural areas had to travel far to pursue technical education. With the initiative of Muutamsetti Srinivasa Rao, the college was established in 2001 to enhance technical literacy and employment opportunities in the region. He appreciated the college for creating employment and contributing to regional development.
