Brentford is eyeing a move for Burnley attacker Zian Flemming, joining a growing list of Premier League clubs circling the Dutch forward after Burnley’s relegation from the top flight at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Flemming, who netted 11 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season, suddenly finds himself as one of the more attractive pieces on the summer transfer market. Burnley reportedly values the 27-year-old in the range of £17M to £20M, a figure that reflects both his output and the club’s weakened negotiating position now that they’re heading back to the Championship.
A familiar pattern for relegated clubs
Burnley signed Flemming permanently in May 2025 for an initial fee of £7M after an obligation-to-buy clause kicked in from his loan move from Millwall the previous August. Flemming is contracted at Turf Moor until June 2029, which gives Burnley some leverage. A sale at £17M to £20M would represent a tidy profit on the initial £7M outlay, even if it means losing their top scorer.
Brentford isn’t the only club sniffing around. Everton, Leeds United, Coventry City, and Ipswich Town have all been linked with interest in the Dutch attacker.
