A 41-year-old man was arrested on the island of Kalymnos in the southeastern Aegean on Tuesday after police found explosives and weapons in his house.

The man, who will appear before a prosecutor on Wednesday, is facing charges of possession of explosives and improper storage of a weapons. The same case file also includes the name of a 37-year-old man who is accused of possession of weapons, explosives and antiquities.

Police said it launched the investigation after it received tips. During the search of the suspects’ homes, they found ammonium nitrate, materials for making dynamite, 162 detonators, fuses, weapons and ancient objects.

These included a 17-meter slow-burning fuse, five smoke generators, two marine flares and six hunting rifles.
