A detachment of armed security operatives from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday disrupted proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja, preventing lawyers and litigants from gaining access to the court premises.

The security presence, which included armed and hooded operatives, caused confusion at the Maitama court as human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, arrived for his trial before Justice Umar Mohammad over allegations bordering on insulting and cyberbullying President Bola Tinubu.
