The supermarket's research says more than half of us 'couldn't live without picky bits food' and almost two thirds eat it more than once a week.To celebrate, Iceland has served more than 15,000 items, including 1,000 cocktail sausages, 1,500 sausage rolls, 800 scotch eggs and 112kg of cheese. The bite-sized snacks were stacked on a 65ft-long table so the chain can claim an unofficial record of the world's largest picky bits meal.It was located at Sefton Park's Palm House in Liverpool, Merseyside, where 71% of people are more likely to attend a summer party if picky bits are provided.Iceland say the spread was so big that a drone was needed to fly above to capture the entire length in all its glory before it was enjoyed by hundreds of picky bits fans.An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: "When our research revealed just how much Britain loves picky bits, there was only one thing for it. That was for us to build a giant picky bits spread with the nation's favourite bites."Picky bits have become a bit of a national obsession so we wanted to celebrate them in the biggest way possible. Seeing hundreds of people come together to tuck into the feast was a real celebration of the nation's love for this type of food and proves just how much Brits love it."Iceland's research says 70% of Brits now prefer a picky bits meal to a takeaway.
