With 100 days having passed since the arrest of Pejman Zare, a Baha’i citizen residing in Shiraz, he remains in temporary detention and legal limbo at Adelabad Prison in the city.

The Baha’i citizen was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents at his private residence in Shiraz on March 15 and transferred to a security detention center. According to received information, after undergoing a period of interrogations accompanied by physical and psychological pressure, he was transferred to Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison and has been held there since without any judicial resolution to his case.

Pejman Zare is the father of a child who recently turned one year old. The following text is an excerpt from a letter he wrote from prison to his child:

“My dear Radvin…

Today is your birthday, the first anniversary of your life. Today is the 92nd day that I have been unfairly imprisoned because I believe in the Baha’i faith and have worked for the progress of my country, my sacred country, Iran. During this time, I have been thinking about you and how you will judge this period in the future. Unfortunately, for the past 92 days, due to being imprisoned, I have been unable to fulfill my paternal duties toward you, and for this, I am ashamed.
