Houseflies and cockroaches in kitchens, mould growth on vegetables, foul-smelling drains, unlabelled food items, and the absence of mandatory records were among the food safety violations detected by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) during inspections carried out at restaurants and a packaged drinking water unit in Hyderabad on Monday (June 22, 2026).Kodi Kura Chitti GareAt Kodi Kura Chitti Gare in Nallagandla, inspectors found raw chicken, desserts and mango pulp that had been received without proper labels. Water testing reports for water used in cooking were unavailable, while the chiller was overloaded, affecting proper cooling. Dust accumulation was noticed on the ceiling above the grinding area. Food waste had not been cleared from drain areas, and records relating to testing of packaging materials were not available. The kitchen ceiling was also found to be greasy. An improvement notice was issued directing the management to strengthen hygiene, storage and housekeeping practices.
