For years, England's problem was that they were too cautious to win a Fifa World Cup. Now they risk becoming too adventurous.
Thomas Tuchel's side lit up their tournament opener against Croatia, scoring four times and producing the kind of attacking football England supporters have demanded for years. It was bold, aggressive and entertaining.
They were able to harness all the hallmarks that have made the English Premier League one of the most exciting leagues in the world. It also wasn't perfect.
Conceding twice in a World Cup opener is not normally cause for celebration, yet the scoreline was largely overlooked amid the excitement surrounding England's attacking display. That may prove understandable after one game, but it may become more concerning if the trend continues.
