Erling Haaland doesn’t do things at a normal pace. The Norwegian striker has now scored 59 goals in just 52 international appearances, making him Norway’s all-time leading scorer with a ratio that looks like a typo.
World Cup heroics meet blockchain hype
Haaland’s historic run hit a new peak at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He scored twice in Norway’s opening match against Iraq, a commanding 4-1 victory that announced Norway as a serious tournament contender.
Within hours of that performance, the secondary market for his digital collectibles lit up. Individual Sorare NFTs featuring Haaland have sold for upwards of 265 ETH at auction, translating to roughly $600,000 to $750,000.
Sorare, for the uninitiated, is an Ethereum-based fantasy football platform where players collect and trade digital cards tied to real athletes.
