Areas affected by the amber warning will see temperatures exceed 30C and potentially reach 38-40C.‌A red warning for extreme heat will also affect a number of regions on Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures exceeding 37C and likely rising to 38-40C in some areas.‌Almost 100 areas will be affected by the severe weather conditions, as people have been urged to keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm, when the sun is strongest.But England and Wales will finally be able to breathe properly again from Saturday onwards, when more bearable temperatures are expected.‌According to the Met Office, temperatures will be lower by even 15C on Saturday, compared to the peak of the heatwave on Wednesday, when temperatures of up to 40C are expected.Article continues belowGiving an outlook for Saturday through to July 6, the forecaster said: "Fairly changeable conditions at first with periods of rain and showers, and there could be some thundery outbreaks at times."There will likely be some drier and brighter spells though. Into July changeable conditions are likely to continue as Atlantic lows move in from the west, but with transient periods of high pressure."This will lead to spells of rain and cloud interspersed with more settled periods.
