Former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Monday visited the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) amid an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure.

Sources within the anti-graft agency said that the visit is connected to an ongoing probe into the former governor’s time in office.

Okowa had previously been arrested by the EFCC in November 2024 over allegations of diverting about N1.3 trillion during his eight-year administration as governor of Delta State.

He was also accused of using public funds to acquire properties in Asaba, the state capital, and Abuja.

Following his earlier arrest, Okowa maintained that all state funds were “judiciously used” during his tenure, insisting that he was not afraid of investigation.
