Mbali Shinga, the NFP Chairperson, remains steadfast in her role as MEC for Social Development despite a court ruling and internal party tensions, highlighting the ongoing political strife within KwaZulu-Natal.

KwaZulu-Natal's political landscape has been thrown into fresh turmoil after National Freedom Party (NFP) chairperson Mbali Shinga announced that she will not resign as MEC for Social Development.

Her declaration follows a ruling by the Pietermaritzburg High Court that halted her expulsion from the party and reinstated her to all official positions pending the outcome of her legal challenge.

In an exclusive statement to the Daily News, conveyed through her lawyer, Sthembiso Mbhele, Shinga said she remained committed to her role in government.

"I have assumed my position as an MEC and will continue as usual pending an internal review process," she said.
