VISAKHAPATNAMGreater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg said on Monday that his past year in office had been highly satisfying and professionally rewarding.Speaking at the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme, where senior officials felicitated him on completing one year, Mr. Garg credited the collective effort of the GVMC team for the city’s progress.Highlighting key milestones, the Commissioner noted that securing nearly ₹1,500 crore from the Central and State governments for major infrastructure projects was a significant achievement. Key initiatives introduced during his tenure include Project Sarathi, Operation Lungs, smart street vending zones, and three hostels for working women.Mr. Garg also highlighted the reorganisation of GVMC into ten zones and the city’s international recognition in the Bloomberg Mayors Challenge 2025.
