Paris Saint-Germain and Ousmane Dembélé have agreed to resume contract extension negotiations after the 2026 FIFA World Cup wraps up, with both sides reportedly moving closer to a long-term deal that would keep the French forward at the Parc des Princes well beyond his current 2028 expiration date.
The gap between offer and ask
Back in January 2026, PSG put a three-year extension on the table worth approximately €30 million per year. Dembélé’s camp said no. Their counter: roughly €60 million annually.
Dembélé has reportedly turned down interest from other clubs, signaling he genuinely wants to stay in Paris. The 29-year-old has been instrumental in PSG’s recent run of success, contributing to two consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.
Reports from mid-June 2026 suggest both sides are now aligned on sporting ambitions. The expectation is that a finalized agreement will come together once the World Cup concludes.
