As the school year winds down, students are saying goodbye to more than just their classmates. The provincial supervisor in charge at the Toronto District School Board is poised to cut a number of programs and staff in working to eliminate a $25 million deficit — though the board is still not expected to balance the books this year.

The changes affect outdoor education sites, science-related resources for teachers, the board’s museum and archives, some school cafeterias as well as community workers who help families, among others.
