Medicare24 CEO, Mike van Wyk will not testify at the Madlanga Commission after he called in sick.

Medicare24 CEO Mike van Wyk will not testify at the Madlanga Commission on Monday after his legal team revealed that he was hospitalised following panic attacks and a psychiatric consultation.

His lawyer, Sandy du Plessis, told the commission that Van Wyk suffered panic attacks, consulted a psychiatrist on June 17, and was admitted to hospital on Sunday.

She said a doctor had recommended psychiatric treatment, prompting an urgent application to postpone his testimony.

Van Wyk was subpoenaed to appear before the commission on June 22.
