On Monday, the south east and south West of England, including London, can expect very high grass pollen and very high weed pollen.Meanwhile, the east of England is set to experience high grass pollen and moderate weed pollen, with the north west of England, east and west Midlands seeing very high grass pollen and high weed pollen. According to the agency, pollen count is defined as “the amount of pollen per cubic metre observed over 24 hours”, with symptoms of hay fever normally presenting themselves “when the pollen count exceeds 50”. The term “pollen bomb” is used to describe the process when trees “release millions of grains of pollen in a short time”, as noted by Claritin.
