U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were flat. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. INFICON Holding added 6.1% and Infineon Technologies rose 4.3%. On the other hand, Babcock International dropped 4.1%, and BELIMO Holding sunk 3.1%. The FTSE 100 was flat. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France's CAC 40 declined 0.2% and Germany's DAX climbed 0.3%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.2% to 97.23.
In commodities, Brent crude fell 1.6% to $79.25 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 1.3% to $75.57 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 1.3% to 42.63 euros a megawatt hour.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 2.979% from 2.992%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 3 basis points to 4.488% from 4.46%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
