No railway ferries are currently operating in temporarily occupied Crimea, although several conventional ferries remain in service.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Ukrainian Navy Spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk said this while speaking on television in response to a question about the situation in occupied Crimea.

“We watched for a long time as the number of radar stations gradually decreased. Then various strike assets began exploiting the resulting gaps in the air defense system. After that, we saw logistics being cut off. Before that, it all started with the destruction of key naval logistics assets, such as large landing ships. Then it was the turn of the railway ferries, and as of today, none of them are operating,” Pletenchuk said.

He noted that Russia still has several conventional ferries available, which could theoretically be used to transport trucks.

“However, their capacity is nowhere near what it used to be. What remains is the so-called Crimean Bridge. I believe we will see that the occupiers will eventually be forced to rely on it as well,” he added.
