Leeds United have tabled a £20 million offer for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, with the two clubs now in active negotiations over a deal that could reshape both squads ahead of the new Premier League season.
The bid represents a significant outlay for a Leeds side fresh off their promotion back to the top flight. It also marks a potential £5 million profit for Southampton, who signed Charles from Manchester City for £15 million in July 2023.
What Leeds are getting, and what Southampton stand to lose
Charles is 22, a Northern Ireland international, and coming off a strong Championship campaign.
For Leeds manager Daniel Farke, bolstering the midfield is a priority following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
