Springbok captain Siya Kolisi says they learned valuable lessons in their rout of the Barbarians ahead of the Nations Championship Tests.

The Springboks ticked many of the boxes they set out to against the Barbarians ahead of their Nations Championship campaign, but captain Siya Kolisi feels they still learned some valuable lessons in their opening match of the season.

After completing an 80-31 rout of the Baabaas, the world champions now turn their attention to England, whom they will face at Ellis Park in two weeks’ time in the first Test of the inaugural tournament.

The Boks will also take on Scotland and Wales during the three-match window before travelling to Argentina. Following the 12-try victory over the invitational side, the Springboks know they will need to step up in certain areas before facing the English.

Kolisi was full of praise for his side’s efforts but added that they had received a reminder of the importance of sticking to the plan.
