The woman was previously handed a suspended sentence but failed to comply with court orders.

A woman previously convicted and sentenced in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in the Free State is expected to be sent directly to prison after failing to comply with a court order.

Mamufumadi Anna Molelekoa-Taso, 45, failed to comply with one of the conditions attached to her 2018 fraud sentence.

According to the provincial spokesperson for the Hawks, Warrant Officer Fikiswa Matoti, the matter stems from fraudulent activities committed during 2013, when Molelekoa-Taso, her late husband Teboho Samuel Taso, and their companies, Quick Step Trading 545 CC and Senothetsha Property and Developers CC, defrauded unsuspecting members of the public through the sale of properties.

“Following investigations, the accused were arrested, prosecuted, and subsequently convicted on charges of fraud and theft. They were sentenced to ten years imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years on condition that they reimburse approximately R4.8 million to the complainants.
