Ofentse Solomon Molemane has been sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment after pleading guilty to 170 counts of fraud involving more than R1 million stolen from a Boitekong primary school's governing body.
A 37-year-old man who defrauded a primary school in Boitekong of more than R1 million has been sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment after pleading guilty to 170 counts of fraud, North West police said.
Ofentse Solomon Molemane was sentenced by the Rustenburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday, August 3, 2026, after admitting to defrauding the School Governing Body (SGB) of a local primary school while carrying out financial and administrative duties between January 2019 and March 2020.
Police spokesperson Constable Thuto Bobelo said Molemane misrepresented financial transactions and falsified records to conceal unauthorised transactions, allowing him to unlawfully benefit by more than R1 million.
The fraud was uncovered when financial reports presented during school meetings revealed irregularities and unauthorised transactions.
