Gymnastics Samoa, the country’s sporting national federation, is hosting an expert coach from Australia this week in Apia.
The expert coach, Caedyn Hardy, will be working with local Samoan coaches to conduct school visits, community gymsport sessions for kids at the three club locations, a free community coach course and coach mentoring for local coaches from Samoa and American Samoa.
The sessions will focus on Gym4All, which teaches the fundamental movement skills as the foundation to every other sport, along with Parkour and other various disciplines.
The course is free for the first 15 people who register by contacting Gymnastics Samoa.
Gymnastics Samoa President Mulitalo Sopolemalama Tuitama-Alsop said their focus is to develop clubs and coaches.
