The body of a woman missing for three weeks and believed to have been murdered has been located on the southern island of Crete, authorities said Sunday.

Reports said a man who had rented a house in the village of Ayia from the missing woman, 45-year-old Stavroula Leventaki, led police to a field some five kilometers from the village where the body had been buried.

Leventaki went missing on May 30.

Her 44-year-old tenant was arrested for drug possession after police investigating Leventaki’s disappearance allegedly found cannabis seedlings in his possession.
