Armed men suspected to be political thugs linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been arrested by soldiers during the ongoing Enugu North Senatorial District bye-election, amid escalating reports of violence, voter intimidation and attacks across several parts of the district.
Sources told SaharaReporters that the suspects were arrested after they allegedly arrived in a Sienna vehicle to attack a politician identified as Hon. Cosmo Agbo.
Videos obtained by SaharaReporters showed some of the suspects sitting on the ground under military custody shortly after their arrest.
In a separate video, another suspect was seen after he was allegedly apprehended with a pump-action gun.
