According to the News Agency of Nigeria, some of the hoodlums also allegedly took advantage of the confusion to rob attendees and residents of mobile phones and other valuables.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects following violence that erupted during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the Egbe area of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred on Onilewura Street along Liasu Road on Saturday when suspected hoodlums reportedly stormed the venue of the exercise and began shooting sporadically, causing panic among party members, delegates and residents.
The attack disrupted the primary election process as voters and party officials fled the scene for safety, while several persons reportedly sustained injuries during the chaos.
