Residents resist EFCC surveillance squad at Ekiti polling unit

There was mild drama at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, in Iyin-Ekiti during the ongoing Ekiti State Governorship Election after voters reportedly chased away operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

According to a video shared by The Nation on its official X account on Saturday, the EFCC team arrived at the polling unit while voting was ongoing to monitor suspected vote-buying activities.

However, their presence was met with what was described as “stiff resistance from voters,” who questioned the reason for their deployment and demanded that they leave the area.

Some voters reportedly confronted the operatives, insisting there was “no evidence of vote-buying” at the polling unit.
