The Ramanathapuram District Crime Branch police registered a case against a Sub-Registrar and five others who were allegedly involved in a bribery case for registering a deed using forged documents in the district. Two persons were arrested in connection with the forgery.Police sources said, Govindan of Pudumadam village in Ramanathapuram district owned 3.5 acres of land in Nochiyurani village.Balamurugan, a resident of Nochiyurani, created fake documents in his own name and prepared documents including the patta for this land.Later, using those fake documents, Balamurugan registered an settlement deed in the names of his two sons, Mukeshkannan and Muneeskannan at the Ramanathapuram Velipattinam Sub-Registrar Office.Upon learning about this, Govindan lodged a complaint with the District Superintendent of Police’s office requesting action against Balamurugan and his sons, who were involved in the fraud using fake documents.Based on that, the District Crime Branch police investigated and registered a case against six persons - Balamurugan, his sons Mukeshkannan and Muneeskannan, middlemen Ayub Khan and Muthukumar, and Ramanathapuram Velipattinam Sub-Registrar Ramanathan.Among them, the police arrested Mukeshkannan and Muneeskannan and lodged them in prison.
