A total of 153 undergraduate and 53 postgraduate students received degrees at the graduation day ceremony of the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) held on the college campus.PIMS in a press release said the ceremony was held for undergraduate students of 2020 batch and postgraduate MD/MS/MCh students of 2022 batch. The chief guest, P. Prabhdeep Kaur, Professor and Chair, Isaac Centre for Public Health, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru distributed degree certificates to the students.In her convocation address, she urged the students to serve the society with a holistic healthcare approach. She highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence among doctors and the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, the release said.Gold medals were presented to University toppers in MD/MS postgraduate examination. The ICMR and PIMS STS awards were presented to undergraduate students. Joseph Abraham Kandathil, vice-president of the institute, Director-Principal Renu G’ Boy Varghese and Registrar Anil J Purty were among those who attended the ceremony, the release added.
