More than 480 students from healthcare disciplines graduated at the 19th Graduation Day ceremony of the Cauvery Group of Institutions and St. Alphonsa Group of Institutions, held at the KSOU Convocation Hall on Saturday.The joint convocation celebrated the academic achievements of graduates from Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy programmes. A total of 60 students were recognised with cash prizes, medals, and special awards for outstanding academic performance.Delivering the convocation address, MP and renowned cardiologist C.N. Manjunath stressed the importance of a patient-centred approach in healthcare. He said healthcare professionals play a crucial role in the patient-care ecosystem and noted that compassion must accompany clinical expertise.“Developing a strictly patient-centric approach is vital. The care and attention you give to a patient at their bedside is just as important as the clinical treatment they receive,” he said.Former Vice-Chancellor K.S. Rangappa urged graduates to maintain discipline throughout their careers and highlighted the importance of research in advancing healthcare.“Success in health sciences requires a highly disciplined approach. You must also recognise the critical importance of research in healthcare, as it drives medical advancement and saves lives,” he said.G.R. Chandrashekar, chairman of Cauvery Group of Institutions, presided over the function.Sarala Chandrashekar, chairperson of Suraksha Education Trust and managing director of Cauvery Group of Institutions, and S.
