A total of 150 healthcare professionals were awarded degrees at the 59th Annual Undergraduate Convocation of St. John’s Medical College held in Bengaluru on Saturday.The graduating batch recorded a 100% pass rate, with five students securing nine university ranks across various subjects.Among the rank holders, Akshay Ajoy secured the fourth rank in Community Medicine, the fourth rank in General Medicine and the seventh rank in General Surgery. He also secured the overall ninth rank in the Phase III Part II MBBS examination.Ananya Varshney secured the seventh rank in Pharmacology and the eighth rank in General Surgery, while Rachel Ranjan obtained the eighth rank in Community Medicine and the eighth rank in Paediatrics. Suzanne Mary Stephen secured the eighth rank in Microbiology, while Zainab Fathima secured the ninth rank in ENT.Delivering the convocation address, Fr. Jose C.C., Vice-Chancellor of Christ (deemed-to-be) University, recalled a 15th-century maxim for physicians and healers: “Cure sometimes, relieve often, comfort always.”He said the dictum acknowledges that while a cure may not always be possible, providing relief and comfort remains a constant responsibility of medical professionals.The event was attended by Fr.
