The inaugural function of the Mahamana Malaviya Mission’s Visakhapatnam chapter was held with fervour at the Visakhapatnam Public Library in Dwaraka Nagar on Saturday (June 20, 2026).The event, which drew a large gathering of students, educationists, and social workers, was marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp and the rendition of the ‘Kulgeet’ to honour the vision of Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya.K. Gopal Krishna Kosaraju, president of the newly formed chapter, outlined the mission’s roadmap for the region. He announced that the focus of the Visakhapatnam chapter will be on community upliftment through the adoption of schools and the support of underprivileged girls and women students. Furthermore, the mission plans to conduct specialised training programmes for educators at the primary, secondary, and collegiate levels while promoting Indian traditions and sports.The keynote address was delivered by BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav. Reflecting on the legacy of Banaras Hindu University’s founder, he urged the youth to imbibe Pandit Malaviya’s ideals of character development and academic excellence to contribute effectively to nation-building.The event saw reflections on Malaviya’s life and contributions from National President Hari Shankar Singh, former Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao, and chairman of Pydah Educational Institutions, Pydah Krishna Prasad.National Secretary (Southern Region) Govind Ram Agarwal and Hyderabad branch secretary Gopal Reddy were also present on the occasion.
