A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the newly appointed police spokesman holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.
The appointment, announced on Friday, June 19, 2026, by the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, marks a new chapter in the leadership of the Force Public Relations Department, which serves as the primary communication channel between the Nigeria Police Force and the public.
According to the statement, CSP Iniedu is a seasoned police officer with extensive experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, institutional accountability and administration.
