Adlink is optimistic about its growth, especially in its healthcare and smart manufacturing businesses, which are to be two key drivers of revenue growth this year, company chairman Jim Liu (劉鈞) told reporters after the company’s annual general meeting in Taoyuan. In Taiwan, persistent nursing staff shortages drive hospitals to adopt more intelligent and automated solutions, Liu said.
Adlink has a focus on medical imaging equipment that integrates controllers with high-quality imaging technology, he said. The equipment is used in ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging systems, he said. Most of the company’s healthcare projects are concentrated in Taiwan, with several smaller healthcare projects in Singapore, Liu said.Demand for medical automation and smart healthcare solutions in both markets is expected to grow this year, he said. The company also expects the adoption of AI functions to drive equipment upgrade demand from clinics and healthcare providers, he said.In smart manufacturing and physical AI, Adlink is developing products based on Nvidia Corp’s Jetson Thor platform and working with robotics companies to target the robot “brain” market, Adlink president Stephen Huang (黃怡暾) said. The company has secured five to 10 new robotics-related projects so far, Huang said.Robotics-related business accounted for about 7 percent of the company’s revenue in the first quarter, he said.Adlink is working with FARobot Inc (法博智能移動) on autonomous mobile robots and with Techman Robot Inc (達明機器人), a subsidiary of Quanta Computer Inc (廣達), on collaborative robots, with three to four projects under way to integrate AI and robotics applications, Huang said.In total, Adlink has secured more than 17 new projects this year across its four key application sectors, with the additions expected to contribute about US$92 million in revenue over the next three years, he added.Beyond robotics and healthcare, Adlink is also eyeing infotainment and rugged computing applications, Huang said.In infotainment, the company combines display panels from flat-panel maker AUO Corp (友達) with its computing technologies for use in retail stores, supermarkets and quick-service restaurants, he said.AUO is the biggest shareholder of Adlink, with a stake of 33 percent, including those owned by AUO’s subsidiaries.Adlink’s gaming business has also maintained steady growth, with about 40 percent of slot machines in Las Vegas using Adlink-related solutions, the company said.In rugged computing applications, Adlink expects robust growth potential in the uncrewed vehicle market and is focusing on vehicle controller systems, where it has already made significant progress, Huang said.
